compulsively cruciferous
i can't stop eating this cabbage salad: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/240584 even though it is freezing cold here and totally wrong to be eating cold crispy things. there's been no heat in my house for two days! extreme new england welcome.
speaking of which, i just got to boston a few days ago and i have many visitors coming this weekend. if you know of delicious foods to eat here or good things to do that can be done in the snow and with a 2.75 year old, please tell me. especially delicious foods near cambridge. i'll probably just be eating cabbage salad but they might want something else.

Hi, It's Belkys. I've been craving a grilled pork vietnamese sandwich since I had one at the Super 88 in Allston a few months ago. So good! You'll love it.

ooh. i don't know what you (and they) like to eat, and what part of cambridge you're in, but:

inman square has very good ice cream (christina's), cheap late night indian (punjabi dhaba), nicer-than-standard chinese (china cafe or something like that).

davis square (in somerville) has the diesel cafe- local queer cafe, fun, yummy- also redbones for good barbeque.

and the allston/brighton area is also very nice- there's a bus that goes from harvard square, which is much better than trying to subway it.

if you tell me where you are exactly, i can give even more localized suggestions! also, the boston science musuem and the aquarium are both great.

chinatown is good, especially the vietnamese places.

OOOHH I love playing tour guide. I'd be happy to take y'all to the aquarium, to the museum of socience, to ice skate /watch people skate. . . Also I have a list of restaurants worth going to a mile long. . . !!! Give me a ring!

Harvest Coop in Central has a little cafe in the front that's not too expensive as far as little cafe's go. I am also a big fan of Falafel palace in Central, Haveli in Inman, and Veggie Planet in Harvard Sq. At all of those except for Haveli, you could get a meal for you and the 2.75 y.o. to share for under $5. Haveli is closer to $10.

When I have 2-3 y.o.s around in the winter, I like to do cooking projects with them so if you don't have a kitchen you are welcome here.

Also living in central and also happy to play tour guide. Haven't seen you in a couple of years and I haven't hung out with raccoontoy in way too long, either. I'll email you my email address in case you no longer have it.

Hey, I just read this, and I'm local to you now. Welcome to Cambridge! Drop me email with what you're still looking for, and I'll hook you up. (I know a good organic CSA/farmshare that has a pick-your-own discount, for example.)
